Delete your account and data

This page is for users of the Parentlox mobile app (the same app name shown on the Google Play and Apple App Store listings). Parentlox is the developer name on those listings.

Request account deletion

To request that your account and the personal data associated with it are deleted, email us using the button below. This is the official channel we use to verify your identity and complete deletion.

Steps to request account deletion

  1. Send an email to support@parentlox.com from an address you can access (ideally the one registered on your Parentlox account).
  2. Use a clear subject line, for example: Parentlox — Account deletion request.
  3. In the message, state that you want your Parentlox account deleted and, if applicable, that you want associated personal data removed. Include the email address tied to the account if you are writing from a different inbox.
  4. We may reply with short follow-up questions to confirm ownership of the account (for example, approximate signup date or the last device type you used). Reply promptly so we can finish the request.
  5. After verification, we process deletion and send a confirmation when the account is closed. Most requests are completed within seven business days of receiving everything we need.

What we delete, what we may keep, and retention

When your deletion request is approved, we delete or de-identify the personal data tied to your account, including for example: your profile and sign-in identifiers; family or pairing relationships managed under that account; preferences stored with the account; and operational content that is stored only to provide the service to you (such as location or device-related data associated with your account), subject to the exceptions below.

Data we may retain for a limited time or as required by law: We may keep certain records where we have a legal obligation (for example, tax, accounting, or fraud-prevention requirements), or where necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. We may also retain aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be linked back to you.

Backups and technical copies: Deleted information may persist in encrypted backups for up to 90 days before those copies roll off according to our backup schedule. After that window, those copies are removed in the ordinary course.

Security logs: Minimal security and abuse-prevention logs that do not unnecessarily prolong personal data may be retained for a limited period (typically up to 12 months) where needed to protect the service and our users.
